ROGERS PARK — An independent grocery store that saw an uptick in business after Dominick's stores closed late last year will close Wednesday, its owner said.

Angelo Palivos opened Clark St. Market in 2012.

"I'm not selling [the store], just closing," he said when reached by phone Tuesday.

The store's remaining products will be sold at a discount, he said.

Palivos declined to give any reasons for the closure.

In November, Palivos said his small store at 7007 N. Clark St. had seen a "bump" in business after Dominick's closed its stores, including on North Broadway and Howard Street.

Since then, Jewel-Osco has taken over the store at the Gateway Shopping Centre, while Whole Foods continues to renovate the former Dominick's on North Broadway.
