PILSEN — Bow Truss Coffee opened the doors to its third Chicago location Wednesday morning, and Pilsen-ites seemed pleased with the new neighborhood coffee house.

"I've walked past it a million times since the sign went up," said Helene Achanzar, who works down the street from Bow Truss. "It's always nice to have a new spot in the neighborhood. Especially one that's not Dunkin' Donuts."

"I really like it," said Kaleb Hamernik, a barista at Greenline Coffee in Woodlawn. "I've been following them on Instagram for a while now, so I've been excited to come down and see it."

Owned by coffee entrepreneur Phil Tadros, Bow Truss already has locations in Lakeview and River North. At 650 square feet, the tiny shop at 1641 W. 18th St. has a few benches for those looking to sit, in addition to a multi-game table for old school video gamers.

Business at the Pilsen shop was steady for opening day, according to Bow Truss barista Greg Loring-Albright.

"It's good. I've definitely been serving people coffee, which is good because we really weren't sure that was going to happen on day one," he said.

The Pilsen location's hours will be weekdays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., according to Loring-Albright, who said the shop should have weekend hours by September.
