HYDE PARK — New Balance shoes will open its second Chicago location in September in Hyde Park, a co-owner of the store said.
“We’ve learned through a bunch of our runners that there is a lot of opportunity to be involved in the running community in and around Hyde Park,” said Jeff Mach, co-owner of the five New Balance stores in the Chicago area.
He said the store is hoping to open between Sept. 15 and Oct. 1 at 5500 S. Lake Park Ave.
“There is a reinvigorated sense of hustle and excitement around the area and we are excited to be part of it,” Mach said.
He said the Hyde Park and Lincoln Park stores will both carry a limited-edition run of classic New Balance designs in early 2015.
