Burglars Hit Six Homes in Hyde Park in a Week

HYDE PARK — Wentworth District police are warning residents to take extra precautions to protect their homes after a string of six burglaries in a week.

Most of the burglaries have happened during the daytime hours, and police are advising residents to fix broken windows or doors and report any suspicious activity.

The burglaries include:

• A July 7 burglary on the 5300 block of South Greenwood Avenue during the daytime or evening hours.
• A July 7 or July 8 burglary on the 5500 block of South Martin Luther King Drive, no time was given.
• A July 11 burglary on the 5400 block of South Ellis Avenue in the morning.
• A July 12 burglary on the 5200 block of South Ellis Avenue during the daytime.
• A July 14 burglary on the 1100 block of East 54th Place during the daytime.
• A July 14 burglary on the 900 block of East Hyde Park Boulevard in the evening.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about any of the break-ins to call 312-747-8382.
