PILSEN — The Pilsen neighborhood is "warming up," according to real estate brokerage Redfin.

Redfin recently revisited its earlier predictions for hottest neighborhoods of 2014 and listed Pilsen — with its median housing price at $214,000 — as a neighborhood to watch with regard to popularity.

The site pointed to amenities like the weekly Sunday farmers market and 2nd Fridays art walk, in addition to the 'hood's proximity to the Loop.

"Pilsen has experienced a lot of commercial revitalization," said Redfin agent Ali Donoghue. "Thalia Hall, which dates from the 1890s, was restored in 2013 as multi-use space that includes a restaurant, bar and concert venue...Add in easy access to the Pink line, the Metra, the Stevenson and the Dan Ryan and you have a still-affordable neighborhood with great transit options, in close proximity to the loop.”

In January, Redfin also named Humboldt Park the 10th hottest neighborhood in the nation — that area has now outperformed expectations with median home sale prices up 62 percent, the company said.
