
CHICAGO — A 49-year-old man was killed and two teenagers were injured in a shooting in Near West Side Tuesday night.
The three men were standing on the sidewalk in the 200 block of South Western Avenue around 10 p.m. when a man got out of a dark car and opened fire, hitting all three of them, said Officer Amina Greer, a police spokeswoman.
All three were taken to Stroger Hospital. The 49-year-old man was shot in his chest and died at the hospital.
Alvin Ivy, of the 1300 block of South Kedzie Avenue in North Lawndale was pronounced dead at 10:33 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
An 18-year-old man was in stable condition after being shot in his right calf and a 17-year-old boy was also in stable condition after being shot in his lower left leg, Greer said.
No one is in custody and Ivy is a documented gang member, Greer said.
