CHICAGO — A 17-year-old girl was shot in her head in Pilsen early Wednesday.
Around 1:45 a.m., the teen was sitting with her boyfriend and other people in a car in the 1000 block of West Cullerton Street when someone walked up to the car and opened fire, police said.
She was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where her condition was stabilized, said Officer Amina Greer, a Chicago Police Department spokeswoman.
No one is in custody for the shooting.
The driver of the car is a documented gang member, Greer said.
