UPTOWN — Aodake Asian Bistro is commemorating its debut in Uptown with a grand opening celebration later this month.

The restaurant at 4650 N. Clark St. has plans for an open house on July 31 with free food sampling and beverages, as well as face painting and balloons for kids, according to the business.

The celebration doesn't stop there, with half-price Dan Bing (similar to a Taiwanese breakfast egg crepe) and breakfast sandwiches from 6:30-10:30 a.m. and half-price beers through Sunday.

The restaurant, Asian Fusion with a focus on Taiwanese cuisine, serves sushi, rice and noodles, Asian sandwiches and breakfast dishes and appetizers, as well as beer and other beverages.

It opened earlier this month in the former Blue Ocean, a sushi joint.

The owner of the restaurant is Amy Tu, who owns Aodake Sushi and Steak House locations in suburban Darien and Romeoville.
