CHICAGO — Your pork chops, apple pie or other culinary concoctions could net you a chance to compete for $100,000 on a TV show if you bring them to "The Taste's" open casting call.

"The Taste," a competitive cooking series, will look for competitors for its third season at an open casting call on Saturday. Participants can be of any background and experience level and must bring their signature dish to the casting call. Sixteen competitors will be selected from across the United States.

Kelly Bauer reveals what her dish would be in a "The Taste" audition:

The winner of the show will have a mentor — one of the show's four judges — and participate in team and individual challenges for a chance to claim $100,000.

The open casting call will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Centered Chef Food Studios, 177 N. Ada St. No. 101. Participants will be given a few minutes to plate their dish but will not have a kitchen to warm or cook the meal, though they can use battery-operated heating and cooking devices.

The show urges participants to register before attending the open casting call and fill out an application that includes one to three photos of themselves and one to three photos of the dish they will serve.

Those who wish to compete can also send in a video application if they can't make the casting call.
