UPTOWN — Mashup maestro Girl Talk is coming to the Aragon Ballroom Thursday as part of Budweiser's Made in America Concert Series.
The Budweiser Made in America Festival, co-founded by rap superstar and mogul Jay Z, kicks off over Labor Day weekend with a fest in Los Angeles with headliners including Imagine Dragons, Kendrick Lamar and John Mayer — and a fest in Philadelphia headlined by Kanye West and Kings of Leon.
Leading up to the two-headed bash, Budweiser plans to hold numerous smaller concerts at venues around the country.
On Thursday, Girl Talk is scheduled to hit the stage at the Aragon, 1106 W. Lawrence Ave., for a 21-and-over show that starts at 8 p.m.
The electronic music DJ whose sample-obsessed experimental hip-hop mashups have been popular since the early 2000s, last released a solo album in 2010 called "All Day" that is available as a free download.
More recently he partnered with Philadelphia rapper Freeway, formerly of Jay Z's Rocafella imprint, for an EP titled "Broken Ankles."
