NEAR WEST SIDE — An eight-foot high pink cube will be set up near Taylor Street Tuesday, as University of Illinois Hospital films a music video for a competition to raise money for breast cancer awareness.

The hospital is shooting the video as part of an entry into the annual Medline Pink Glove Dance Competition, a competition between hospitals across the U.S. which raises awareness for breast cancer and the importance of early detection of the disease. The winner receives $15,000 to donate to the breast cancer charity of its choosing.

More than 300 people will participate in the video, including UIC faculty and UI Health staff, Flames athletes, UIC dance teams, breast cancer survivors and players from the Chicago Fire soccer team and the Imerman Angels.

The pink cube will be in a grassy area across from UI Hospital, 1740 W. Taylor St., from 4 a.m. onward Tuesday.
