Pilsen's Outdoor Farmers Market Kicks Off Sunday

PILSEN — The neighborhood's first outdoor farmers market of the season starts Sunday, with new and returning vendors and even a free morning yoga class.

This is the seventh year for the market, located at the corner of Halsted and 18th streets. Market-goers will see returning vendors like John Bailey Honey, Ingram's Jam and Bread, Dia De Los Tamales and Beurrage bakery, which recently opened a Pilsen storefront at 1248 W. 18th St.

New vendors include Smashed Muffin Goods, Belli's, Spice! and The Urban Canopy, among others.

Ms. Anna Art will be on hand for face painting and body art. Mariel Castillo will lead a  free hourlong vinyasa yoga class at 10:30 a.m.

The Pilsen Community Market will be open 9 a.m.-3 p.m. every Sunday and runs through Oct. 26. Admission is free.
