LAKEVIEW — A planned restaurant on Broadway wants people to be able to eat a bunch of different kinds of foods — for a low price.

Uni Grill, 3500 N. Broadway, will offer different kinds of Asian meat and veggie skewers, costing between $1.25 and $2 each, co-owner Bin Chen said.

That way, people can eat a variety of food without breaking the bank, he said.

"Anybody can come in, spend $5, $10 and get three, four, five or six items," Chen said. "You go to a restaurant, you spend $10, and all you get is one dish. Or you go to Subway, spend $5, $6, all you get is a sub."

Chen, who immigrated to the U.S. from China at 13, will also be selling pop from different Asian countries. Usually, people would have to go to Koreatown or Chinatown to get those specialty drinks, he said.

Skewers will include chicken, pork chop, steak, beef short ribs and veggies. Uni will also offer some entrees, like curry chicken and beef.

Previously, Chen owned Ichiban Sushi Cafe in Little Italy, 1422 W. Taylor St. He sold it in 2010.

The cafe is still under construction.
