CHICAGO — Blue Line trains are delayed after a derailment, CTA officials said Thursday night.
No injuries have been reported, said CTA spokesman Brian Steele. He said a Forest Park-bound train that had just left the Cicero station struck an automobile tire that somehow made it to the tracks, causing the front wheels of the train to "slightly derail."
As crews work to "rerail" the train, power is out in both directions, he said.
Trains are operating between O'Hare and Pulaski, and Oak Park and Forest Park, the CTA said, and bus shuttles are running between Pulaski and Oak Park.
Service was restored about 9:45, though trains were using one track. The CTA advised riders to follow its Twitter account for updates.
