WEST LOOP — Humboldt Park's Cemitas Puebla will open another location in the city's meatpacking district, the restaurant's owner confirmed Tuesday.

Cemitas, at 3619 W. North Ave., is a family owned taqueria specializing in Poblano-style Mexican food. Owner Tony Anceliz said Tuesday he plans to open another taqueria at 817 W. Fulton Market — sandwiched between the Glazed & Infused doughnut shop and Publican Quality Meats — by this summer.

Similar to Cemitas Puebla, the restaurant will be more of a grab-and-go Mexican fast food joint with "nothing fancy," Anceliz said Tuesday.

"It’ll fit the neighborhood, but at the same time, in my opinion, there's no such thing as a fancy taqueria," he said.

On Monday, Curtis Duffy — of West Loop's Michelin-starred Grace — stopped in for lunch at Cemitas in Humboldt Park and tweeted his excitement for the new West Loop restaurant.

"Thank you @cemitaspuebla for an incredible lunch. Can't wait for your 2nd place to open," the tweet said.
