ANDERSONVILLE — A restaurant at 5413 N. Clark St. will be reborn as Market Taco, the third dining concept there under the same ownership in the past year.

Bull Horns Taco Bar closed at the location earlier this month after being open only since October, but a new taco joint named Market Taco is slated to pop up there in April after some interior renovations.

The idea for Market Taco is for it to be a "global taqueria" with "Mexican favorites but then also global street tacos, tequilas, bourbons and beer, simple but solid food," according to co-owner Jim Dragatsis.

Before Bull Horns opened, a popular Indian restaurant named Marigold had occupied the space.

Dragatsis and his partner Sandeep Malhorta are the owners behind Marigold, which they closed in August 2013 to focus more on their fast food business, Masala by MarigoldThe partners then teamed up with another group to open Bull Horns, but weren't satisfied with the place and closed it.

Now they're planning to open Market Taco and run it themselves.

Dragatsis was out of town on business and couldn't speak on the phone, but was able to share details about what led to Bull Horns' closing and Market Taco's upcoming opening.

He said in a Facebook message that the idea for Bull Horns was brought to the partners by an outside group (which he declined to name), and that they collaborated to open the restaurant with the outside group running the joint.

"Sandeep and I felt the food was not anything close to the quality we expected and the remodel was not done properly so we acted quickly and ended the partnership," he wrote.
