CHICAGO — A 17-year-old boy died of gunshot wounds he suffered in Little Village Thursday night, authorities said.
Javier Gonzalez, of the 3100 block of South Komensky Avenue, died at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Mount Sinai Hospital, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
He was shot at 7:50 p.m. Thursday in his right shoulder and head while he was on a sidewalk in the 3000 block of South Karlov Avenue, said Officer Jose Estrada, a police spokesman.
The boy was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
No additional details were available Saturday morning.
