NOBLE SQUARE — A former Pump Room chef is behind the kitchen of a new restaurant opening in Noble Square, offering several cuts of steak.

Husband and wife team Joe Krouse and Megan Dunne Krouse are launching Unite Urban Grill at 1450 W. Chicago Ave in Noble Square at 5 p.m. on Tuesday.

Former Pump Room chef Bradford Phillips' grill menu offers New York rib eye, strip, hangar tenderloin steak ranging in price from 18 to $32.

Just east of Ashland Avenue and a few doors east of Ugly Mug Cafe, Urban Unite Grill serves dinner from Tuesday through Sunday and brunch on Sunday. The grill replaces the shuttered bar Leopold and joins other Chicago Avenue newcomers like Epic Spice Shop.

In addition to steak, the dinner menu offers ribs, salmon, Amish chicken and a veggie burger.

For non-meat eaters or those looking for healthy side dishes, there's pasta and caramelized Brussels sprouts with pistachio and pesto, spiced baby carrots and quinoa among several dishes priced from 5 to $10.

Unite Urban Grill's bar features a rotating selection of bottled and craft beers, with eight draft taps offering beers from breweries like Great Lakes, Solemn Oath, Greenbush and Lagunitas.

About 30 varieties of red and white wines and specialty cocktails named after Chicago neighborhoods round out the drink menu.

Unite's liquid interpretation of Wicker Park is a cocktail made of Mezcal, a distilled spirit native to Mexico with a high sugar content, cherry herring and lemon, while "Lakeview,' consists of Death Door's Gin and Prosecco, an Italian sparkling wine. Noble Square combines Alesbury Duck Vodka with tawny port syrup and lemon.
