CHICAGO — Three people are being questioned by police after a teen girl was shot near several Little Village businesses and a school Monday morning, police said.

A 17-year-old girl was shot in the 2100 block of South California Avenue about 8:35 a.m., police said.

She was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in "stable" condition with gunshot wounds to her thigh and hip, said Officer John Mirabelli, a police spokesman.

Cops were talking to three "people of interest" after the shooting, Mirabelli said.

The shooting happened not far from several businesses and Hammond Elementary School at 2819 W. 21st Pl.
