CHICAGO — The Marigold Indian Restaurant in Andersonville served its last samosa earlier this week after the restaurant's owners decided to shift their business focus elsewhere.

According to a message on the restaurant's Facebook page, owners Jim Dragatsis and Sandeep Malhorta closed Sunday after opting to concentrate on their fast food and packaged food business, leaving little time for the running of Marigold at 5413 N. Clark St.

Eater Chicago reported that Dragatsis and Malhorta are planning to open their seventh fast food casual concept called "Masala by Marigold."

The Facebook page also reads: "Thank you for 7 years! As we open a new chapter, we hope you will continue to enjoy some of your Marigold favorites at our Masala by Marigold locations."

The restaurant moved to Andersonville last year after six years in Uptown.
