CHICAGO — Two men tried to lure a 14-year-old girl on the West Side Monday afternoon, police said in a community alert.

The teen was walking east in the 1600 block of West 18th Street in Pilsen when two men drove up  in a black pickup truck, according to the alert. A passenger in the truck called to her and asked her to come over because he wanted to take her picture, police said.

The men followed her down the street and onto the 1700 block of South Laflin Street, police said. After one of the men got out of the truck, the girl ran toward a crowd of people and got away, according to police.

The man got back into the truck and the two sped away west on 16th street, cops said.

The passenger in the truck was described by police as an Hispanic 30-year-old man with olive complexion and short brown hair. He's 5-foot-6 and weighs 170 pounds, according to the alert. 

The driver was described in the alert as a 30-year-old Hispanic. No other description of the driver was available.

The pickup truck had tinted side windows and a white tarp over its bed, according to police. The mirror on the passenger of the pickup was cracked.
