Students and faculty from William H. King Elementary, 740 S. Campbell Ave., came out Thursday evening to protest their school's closing. Ald. Bob Fioretti (2nd) and Ald. Jason Ervin (28th) were also present at the meeting, held at Whitney Young High School. This is the second of three meetings that give members of the school and community an opportunity to speak as to why their school should not close. The final public hearing for King will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m. April 26 at the Chicago Public Schools Central Office (125 S. Clark St.)
