CHICAGO — Chicago police are investigating the death of a missing former Harold Washington College student whose body was found in a Pilsen apartment building earlier this week.
Michelle Manalansan, 28, had last been seen on Feb. 9 near 300 E. South Water Street wearing a pink jogging suit and white gym shoes, according to a missing persons report issued by police.
Her body was found the morning of March 17 by a resident of a building in the 1400 block of South Cullerton Ave., said Officer Daniel O’Brien, a police spokesman, and was identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
At the time of the discovery, police were unable to determine her gender, race or age, O’Brien said.
Area Central detectives are investigating, he said.
