
CHICAGO — A man was killed early Sunday morning when he was shot in a vehicle in Lawndale and another man was wounded by gunfire in a separate Lawndale attack.
Damian Barnes, 22, was sitting in the driver's seat of a parked car when an unknown gunmen got in the vehicle and fired shots, hitting Barnes in the back about 12:50 a.m., authorities said.
Barnes, of the 4200 block of West Van Buren Street, was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital and pronounced dead at 2:49 a.m.
According to police, Barnes is affiliated with a local gang.
No one is currently in custody, police said.
In a separate shooting Sunday morning, police said a man in his late-40s walked into Rush Hospital with a gunshot wound to the hip at about 2:10 a.m. after being shot on the 1600 block of South Kedvale Avenue.
No further information was available on the shooting
