CHICAGO — Kenneth Bowens was gunned down a few blocks from his home in Chicago Lawn just days before his 27th birthday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
Bowens was shot dead in the 2400 block of West 71st Street the evening of Jan. 3 and pronounced dead the following morning, officials said.
Another man was wounded in the leg during the shooting, the Tribune reported.
Bowens has a criminal history dating back to 2005. He was convicted of robbery and battery as well as several drug-related offenses, according to court records.
No arrests were made.
