Casey Cora is a neighborhood reporter at DNAinfo Chicago, covering Bridgeport, Back of the Yards and Chinatown.

Born and raised in Joliet, Casey joined DNAinfo after two and a half years editing the Oak Park edition of Patch.com. Prior to that, he covered municipal beats on the Southwest Side, where politics was a contact sport, and covered breaking and community news for the St. Petersburg Times in Florida.

His work has appeared in the Chicago Sun-Times, SouthtownStar, St. Petersburg Times, Patch and the Huffington Post.

Fun fact: A crime brief he wrote about a woman stabbing her boyfriend’s puppet made it to Jay Leno’s “Headlines” segment.
