LINCOLN SQUARE — A man and woman in their 60s were robbed at gunpoint in Lincoln Square Sunday night, according to a community alert issued by Ald. Pat O'Connor (40th).

At approximately 11:30 p.m., two men approached the couple in the 2700 block of West Leland Avenue, pulled a gun and demanded the pair's cellphones. After the victims complied, the men fled on foot west on Leland.

The suspects are described as black males, 18-25 years old, 130-150 pounds, between 5 foot 6 and 5 foot 8 inches tall, wearing black hoodies and black pants.

In response to a string of robberies and assaults in recent weeks, O'Connor and Lincoln Police District Cmdr. Sean Loughran have scheduled a community-wide CAPS meeting for 7 p.m., Oct. 26, at Amundsen High School, 5110 N. Damen Ave.
