LINCOLN SQUARE — Lincoln Square residents have been rattled by an armed robbery spree that saw at least four people held up at gunpoint over a four-hour period Monday, according to police.

Police issued a community alert early Wednesday after four reported incidents — all of which took place between 6:30-10 p.m. Monday — in which victims were robbed by men armed with a handgun:

• 4500 block of North Campbell Avenue, 6:30 p.m.

• 1900 block of West Leland Avenue, 9:40 p.m.

• 1000 block of West Leland Avenue, 9:52 p.m.

• 2000 block of West Giddings Street, 10 p.m.

According to the Crime in Wrigleyville and Boystown blog, two additional incidents on Leland went unreported during the same time frame.

The next CAPS meeting for the area in which the robberies occurred is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Sulzer Library, 4455 N. Lincoln Ave.
