CHICAGO — Police are looking for a man they believe committed two strong-arm robberies in the Norwood Park and Edison Park neighborhoods Wednesday, police said.

Both times, someone was walking in the street when the man walked up from behind and robbed them of their cellphone, according to a police alert issued Friday.

The first robbery occurred at 7:30 p.m. in the 7500 block of North Oleander Avenue in Edison Park, police said.

The second robbery was reported 10 minutes later in the 6600 block of West Berwyn Avenue in Norwood Park, police said.

Police described the suspect as a white man in his early 20s, standing about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing about 140 pounds. He was seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.

Anyone with information on the suspect or the robberies is asked to call detectives at 312-744-8263.
