String Of Cars Stolen In Irving Park, Locks Were No Deterrent: Cops

IRVING PARK — Locked doors failed to deter thieves, as a string of cars were recently reported stolen in the Kilbourn Park area, according to a community alert issued by police.

The thefts took place between Aug. 17 and Aug. 22, police said.

All of the vehicles were legally parked, all were locked and there was no sign of broken glass near the parking spaces in any of the reported thefts, according to police.

Owners returned to their vehicles to find them missing, police said.

No information was available regarding a potential suspect or suspects.

The thefts occurred:

• 4200 block of West Montrose Street, between 6 p.m. Aug. 17 and 5 a.m. Aug. 18.

• 4300 block of West Roscoe Street, between 3:45 p.m. Aug. 17 and 11 a.m. Aug. 18.

• 4000 block of West Roscoe Street, between 12:30 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. Aug. 18.

• 3500 block of North Milwaukee Avenue, 9 p.m. Aug. 18.

• 3300 block of North Pulaski Road, between noon and 1 p.m. Aug. 22.
