Shootings Wound 2 People Thursday, Police Say

CHICAGO — Two people were wounded in shootings in Chicago on Thursday.

The shootings came the day after Chicago hit its 100-murder milestone for 2017 at the earliest point in years.

• At 8:13 p.m., a 30-year-old man was wounded by a shooting in Marquette Park, police said. The man was inside a home in the 3500 block of West 72nd Place when someone fired shots outside.

The man's leg was grazed by a bullet and he refused medical attention, police said. A car was also damaged.

• At 7:07 p.m., a 62-year-old man was shot in Little Village, police said. The man was in the 3600 block of West Cermak Road when he was shot in his arm.

The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition, police said.

No further information was immediately available.

No one was in custody in these shootings.
