Chicago Lawn Burglaries Prompt Police Warning

CHICAGO LAWN — There has been a recent rash of burglaries in the neighborhood, according to Chicago Lawn detectives.

Police said the crimes took place:

• At 8:30 a.m. Jan. 10 in the 3600 block of West 63rd Place

• At 8 p.m. Jan. 12 in the 2600 block of West 85th Street

• At 11:55 a.m. Jan. 17 in the 3300 block of West 61st Place

• At 7:59 p.m. Jan. 17 in the 2600 block of West Seipp Street

• At 11:30 p.m. Jan. 18 in the 8400 block of South Rockwell Street

• At 4:30 p.m. Jan. 20 in the 6200 block of South Spaulding Avenue

• At 9:15 a.m. Jan. 23 in the 6100 block of South St. Louis Avenue

Here’s what Chicago Police say you can do to keep your home and property safe:

• Keep your property well lit.

• Report all suspicious activity.

• Keep doors and windows secured.

• Immediately repair any broken windows, doors or locks.

• If video surveillance is available, make a copy of the footage of the crime for detectives.

• If your home is burglarized, do not touch anything. Call police instead.

• If you find witnesses, request their contact information for detectives.
