Logan Square Burglars Breaking Into Homes On Sawyer Avenue, Police Say

LOGAN SQUARE — Police are asking residents to be on the lookout following a pattern of burglars breaking into homes on Sawyer Avenue in Logan Square.

At least three homes in the 2600-2800 blocks of North Sawyer Avenue have been burglarized since Jan. 6, according to a police alert issued late Wednesday.

In all of the incidents, burglars are breaking into homes — both through the back and front doors — while residents are away, police said. Some of the doors appeared to be pried open, but police said some of the residents mght have left their doors unlocked.

One resident reported four separate break-ins over the course of a two-hour span.

The incidents happened:

• 7 a.m. Jan. 6 in the 2800 block of North Sawyer Avenue

• 7:20 a.m. Jan. 6 in the 2800 block of North Sawyer Avenue

• 7:30 a.m. Jan. 6 in the 2800 block of North Sawyer Avenue

• 8:30 a.m. Jan. 6 in the 2800 block of North Sawyer Avenue

• 9:30 a.m. Jan. 6 in the 2800 block of North Sawyer Avenue

• 8:15 a.m. Jan. 9 in the 2600 block of North Sawyer Avenue
