ROGERS PARK — In a galaxy not very far away at all, there's a way to see "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" early and without breaking the bank.
While the latest installment from the classic Star Wars universe hits most theaters across the country Friday, two North Side independently-owned theaters are offering a sneak peek.
On Thursday, moviegoers can catch a 9 p.m. showing at the New 400 Theater in Rogers Park, 6746 N. Sheridan Road.
VIP packages that included a ticket, priority seating, "Star Wars"-themed trivia and one free concession item (like one of the movie-themed cocktails) are now sold out, but movie-goers can still buy a regular $8.50 ticket in advance or at the door while they last.
Star Wars-themed cocktails will be sold at the concession stand bar.
Over in Lincoln Square, the newly renovated Davis Theater will open its doors for the first time since beginning a multi-million dollar rehab to show "Rogue One" at 7 p.m. on all three of its screens for $12.
Four additional show times for "Rogue One" will follow: Once more in the auditorium at 10 p.m.; and at 7:45 p.m., 8:15 p.m. and 10:45 p.m. in the Davis's two smaller theaters, which now feature stadium seating and screens that are double the size of their predecessors.
