Grand Crossing Shooting Wounds Man, 23, Police Say

By Kelly Bauer | November 26, 2016 5:44pm

CHICAGO — A 23-year-old man was wounded in a shooting in Grand Crossing on Saturday, police said, but the shooting might have been self-inflicted.

At 12:01 p.m., the man told detectives he was walking in the 6800 block of South State Street when a black car pulled alongside him and a man inside the car fired shots, police said.

The man was hit in his leg and was taken to St. Bernard Hospital in good condition, police said.

But officers think the shooting might have been self-inflicted, a police source said, and the man was a documented gang member.
