Pilsen Shooting Wounds 20-Year-Old Man, Police Say

PILSEN — A 20-year-old man was injured in a shooting Sunday night in Pilsen, Chicago Police said.

At about 8:40 p.m. Sunday, the man, 20, was walking in the 2100 block of South Wolcott Avenue when someone in a black SUV fired shots at him.

The man was hit in his left leg and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

The man was a documented gang member, police sources said. 

The shooting occurred a few blocks south of Harrison Park. 

Weekend violence left a total of nine people dead and 21 wounded in Chicago, police report.
