O'HARE — Construction crews will begin work Tuesday on a new flyover bridge linking the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (I-90) to Cumberland Avenue, state transportation officials announced.

Starting Tuesday, workers will close off the shoulder of the eastbound I-190 east of the Des Plaines River, according to a notice from the Illinois Department of Transportation.

Crews will also periodically close lanes overnight on the tollway and I-190 "as needed," with more closures to be scheduled later, the notice read.

Once completed in fall 2018, the bridge is expected to "enhance safety and reduce congestion" for drivers, officials said.
