LINCOLN PARK — A developer wants to rehab a historic home and build a four-story residential building on a neighboring vacant lot in one of Lincoln Park's landmark districts, according to Ald. Michele Smith (43rd).

The developer is seeking zoning approval for the project at 441 - 447 W. Arlington Pl.

Plans include rehabbing the single-family home, which sits in the Arlington & Roslyn Landmark District, and building an eight-unit residential building with 14 parking stalls on the vacant lot next door.

Two of the parking stalls would be reserved for residents of the home, Smith said.

Neighbors are encouraged to attend a community meeting Aug. 18 at Gaslight Bar and Grille, 2450 N. Clark St., at 6 p.m. Park West Community Association and the alderman's office will host the meeting.

The historic area, which includes 400-blocks of west Arlington Avenue and Roslyn Avenue, between Clark Street and Lakeview Avenue, was designated a landmark district in 1989.

Homes in the area were built between 1894 and 1910 in a number of different architectural styles, including Gothic Revival and Queen Anne.
