CHICAGO — A shooting in Humboldt Park left a man critically wounded on Friday night, police said.

At 9:40 p.m., the man was standing on the street in the 2600 block of West Potomac Avenue when someone in a white SUV fired shots at him, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The man was hit in his head. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, Estrada said.

The man was a documented gang member, police said.

No one was in custody.
