CHICAGO — Shootings have left one man dead and 14 people wounded since Wednesday, police said.

At 8:43 p.m. Wednesday, police found a 28-year-old man dead in North Lawndale. The man had been shot in the neck and head.

In nonfatal shootings:

• Most recently, at 1:15 a.m. Thursday, a 20-year-old man was shot in Washington Heights, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman. The man was sitting on the front porch of a home in the 1300 block of West 107th Street when someone in a light-colored SUV fired shots at him.

The man was hit in the left knee. He was brought to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where his condition was not released but he was listed as "stable," Estrada said.

• At 1 a.m., a 34-year-old man was shot and wounded during a drive-by in Englewood.

• At 9:50 p.m. Wednesday, a 16-year-old was critically wounded when he was shot while trying to fight off a robber in South Shore.

• Also at 9:50 p.m., robbers stole a 19-year-old man's cellphone and then shot him in the back in Austin.

• At 9:20 p.m., a 19-year-old man and 23-year-old man were playing basketball in Woodlawn when a man walked up and shot them.

• At 7:34 p.m., a 20-year-old man and 40-year-old woman were shot in South Shore, Estrada said. They were standing on the sidewalk in the 7000 block of South Clyde Avenue when a white truck drove by and someone inside fired shots.

The man was hit in his left ankle and was taken to University of Chicago Medicine, where he was in good condition, Estrada said.

The woman's upper arm was grazed by a bullet, but she refused medical attention and left the scene of the shooting before investigators could speak to her, Estrada said.

• At 5:30 p.m., three men were shot multiple times in their legs while standing in front of a home in Englewood. 

• At 2:45 p.m., a 21-year-old man was shot in Washington Heights, Estrada said. The man was in the front passenger seat of a car driving in the 10300 block of South Morgan Street when a man walked out of a gangway and fired shots.

The victim was hit in his face and right hand. He was driven to Little Company of Mary Hospital and then transferred to Advocate Christ Medical Center. His condition was not released but he was listed as "stable," Estrada said.

• At 10:30 a.m., two men were shot during an argument in West Town.

No one was in custody in these shootings unless otherwise noted.
