HYDE PARK — The history of the Hyde Park Neighborhood Club is going on full display starting Saturday afternoon.

The Hyde Park Historical Society is opening a new exhibit on the history of the community center at 2 p.m. Saturday at the group’s headquarters, 5529 S. Lake Park Ave.

The neighborhood club started in 1909 as a safe place in the neighborhood for kids to play and has morphed and become many different things over the years, but continues to serve Hyde Park’s kids.

The full history will we told by current Executive Director of the club, Sarah Diwan and Development Director Miriam Sierig at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, with a reception to follow.

The exhibit will be open from 2-5 p.m Saturday and is free and open to the public.
