CHICAGO — Shootings in different parts of the city left a 15-year-old boy dead and six other people wounded between Tuesday morning and Wednesday morning, police said.
• The boy died after being shot in his chest in South Chicago late Tuesday night.
• Three people were shot and wounded in Humboldt Park within about two hours of one another Tuesday evening.
• In Uptown, two men were shot about a block away from each other late Tuesday and early Wednesday.
• Someone shot at a moving car on Lake Shore Drive early Wednesday morning, but no one was hurt.
• Just before 1 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, a 48-year-old man was standing at the corner of 79th Street and Laflin Street in Auburn Gresham when two men shot at him before fleeing in a blue sedan, according to Officer Kevin Quaid, a Chicago Police spokesman.
The man was brought to Advocate Christ Medical Center with a gunshot wound in his torso, Quaid said. Police could not provide his condition but said he was "stable."
A woman also suffered injuries after jumping over a fence to escape the shooting, police said.
Police said the man is a documented gang member.
No one is in custody, police said.
