CHICAGO — Shootings in different parts of the city left a 15-year-old boy dead and six other people wounded between Tuesday morning and Wednesday morning, police said.

• The boy died after being shot in his chest in South Chicago late Tuesday night.

Three people were shot and wounded in Humboldt Park within about two hours of one another Tuesday evening.

• In Uptown, two men were shot about a block away from each other late Tuesday and early Wednesday.

• Someone shot at a moving car on Lake Shore Drive early Wednesday morning, but no one was hurt.

• Just before 1 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, a 48-year-old man was standing at the corner of 79th Street and Laflin Street in Auburn Gresham when two men shot at him before fleeing in a blue sedan, according to Officer Kevin Quaid, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The man was brought to Advocate Christ Medical Center with a gunshot wound in his torso, Quaid said. Police could not provide his condition but said he was "stable."

A woman also suffered injuries after jumping over a fence to escape the shooting, police said.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.

No one is in custody, police said.
