LATHROP HOMES — A 24-year-old man was critically wounded after being shot multiple times outside the Lathrop Homes early Tuesday morning, police said.

Around 12:55 a.m., officers responded to a call of a person shot in the 2700 block of North Hoyne Avenue, where they found the man unresponsive in the complex's rear yard, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The man was brought to Illinois Masonic Hospital with gunshot wounds in his abdomen, arm, groin and both legs, Estrada said.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.

No one is in custody, police said.
