LINCOLN PARK — Plans to build an eight-story, mixed-use development near the intersection of Fullerton, Ashland and Clybourn avenues are in the works.

The owner of the property at 2300 N. Clybourn Ave. is seeking a zoning change to build a tower there — complete with 85 apartments, ground-floor and parking in the building, according to Sheffield Neighbors Association.

It would replace a vacant commercial building that used to house a FedEx/Kinkos and a Chicago Costume shop.

Suburban manufacturing company R.A. Zweig, Inc., of Glenview, IL, is listed as the property owner, according to county records. Arie Zweig, who is listed as the president of the company, did not immediately return a message seeking comment.

Ald. Brian Hopkins (2nd), whose ward includes the development, and the neighborhood group will host a a community meeting to gauge support for the zoning change on May 26 at Little Sisters of the Poor, 2325 N. Lakewood Ave., beginning at 7 p.m.

Anyone with questions is encouraged to email the group at info@sheffieldneighborhood.org.
