New Road Construction Woe: Lincoln Avenue Set for Weekend Closure

NORTH CENTER — Between the Western-Belmont viaduct demolition and a water main replacement project on Lincoln Avenue, North Side roads have become an obstacle course for motorists.

Add one more challenge to the mix this weekend: CTA structural repair work on the elevated tracks near the Addison Brown Line station will require the closure of Lincoln Avenue below, in both directions between Waveland and Patterson (3640-3670 N. Lincoln Ave.).

Traffic will be rerouted to Addison and Damen. Parking restrictions will also be in effect.

The closure will begin at 8 p.m. Friday and continue through 11 p.m. Sunday. Sidewalks will remain open to pedestrians.
