JEFFERSON PARK — With a property tax hike looming, now's the time to make sure you're not paying more than you should be.

The deadline for residents of Jefferson Township to appeal their property taxes with county officials is Feb. 2.

Homeowners can file an appeal of their property taxes online, officials said.

A representative from Cook County Commissioner Bridget Gainer's office will be on hand from 3-6 p.m. Wednesday at Ald. John Arena's office, 4754 N. Milwaukee Ave., to help residents fill out appeals, exemption applications and answer questions.

For more information, call Gainer's office at 312-603-4210 or Arena's office at 773-286-4545 or email ward45@cityofchicago.org.
