Irving Park Shooting Kills Man; Bullets Hit Golden Nugget: Officials

CHICAGO — A shooting in Irving Park left a 29-year-old man dead on Saturday night, police said.

At 8:15 p.m., police responded to a report of a person shot and found the man in the 3200 block of West Irving Park Road, said Officer Janel Sedevic, Chicago Police spokeswoman. The man had been shot in his head and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man was identified as Henry Cruz, of the 800 block of North Hamlin, in Cook County Medical Examiner's records. Cruz was pronounced dead of multiple gunshot wounds at 8:35 p.m., according to the Medical Examiner's Office.

The shooter also hit the window of a Golden Nugget, 3234 W. Irving Park Road, though no one inside was injured, Ald. Deb Mell (33rd) said in a post on Facebook.
