CHICAGO — In the city's deadliest single day since September, shootings claimed four lives and left another 16 people wounded between Friday morning and Saturday morning, police said.

A man was killed and two others were hurt in a shooting blocks away from Mayor Rahm Emanuel's home in Ravenswood Friday evening, police said.

Five men were shot, one fatally, in North Lawndale Friday night, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

Two men were found shot to death within an hour of each other, Estrada said: one in Hermosa on the Northwest Side, and the other in Chicago Lawn on the Southwest Side.

• Most recently, around 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning, a 20-year-old man was dropped off at Rush Medical Center with a gunshot wound in his head, Estrada said.

The man was arguing with another man outside a party in the 3800 block of West Polk Street in North Lawndale when the other man pulled out a gun and shot him, Estrada said.

He was transferred from Rush to Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, Estrada said.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.

• About 20 minutes earlier, two men were shot in the 5500 block of West Congress Parkway in Austin, Estrada said.

One man, 23, was driving on a ramp merging onto the Eisenhower Expressway when he heard gunshots and felt pain in his buttocks, Estrada said. He went to Hines VA Hospital, where his condition stabilized, though police could not say which condition he was in.

The other man, 28, was walking westbound on Congress Parkway when he heard gunshots and felt pain in his lower right thigh, Estrada said. He was brought to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in "stable" condition, Estrada said.

• Around 11 p.m., a 43-year-old man was standing in the 7300 block of South Aberdeen Street in Englewood when someone shot at him out of a white minivan, Estrada said.

The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where where his condition stabilized after he was treated for gunshot wounds in his right ankle and his back, Estrada said, though police could not say which condition he was in.

• At 9:45 p.m., a 27-year-old man was standing in the 5800 block of South Washtenaw Avenue in Gage Park, Estrada said, when a man got out of a dark-colored SUV and fired shots in his direction.

The man was brought to Stroger Hospital, where his condition stabilized after he was treated for a gunshot wound in his left leg, Estrada said, though police could not say which condition he was in.

• Around 4:50 p.m. Friday, Estrada said, an 18-year-old woman was sitting in a car in the 7900 block of South Exchange Avenue in South Shore when someone shot her in her left shoulder.

The woman brought herself to South Shore Hospital, where she was in "stable" condition, Estrada said.

• At 1:50 p.m., two women, 20 and 21, were shot in the 4100 block of West Adams Street in West Garfield Park, Estrada said.

Two men were arguing nearby when one of them pulled out a gun and began shooting, Estrada said. Police believe the women were struck by accident.

The 20-year-old was shot in her abdomen and the 21-year-old was shot in her left hand, Estrada said. Both women were brought to Mount Sinai Hospital, where they were listed in good condition.

• Around 10:20 a.m. Friday morning, an 18-year-old man was walking with a group of friends in the 1100 block of North Central Avenue when he heard gunshots and felt pain in his hip, Estrada said.

The man was brought to Mount Sinai Hospital, Estrada said, where he was listed in good condition.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.

• Around the same time, Estrada said, a 34-year-old man was shot during an attempted robbery in West Garfield Park.

The man was walking in the 100 block of North Kostner Avenue when someone walked up and announced a robbery before shooting him in his foot and fleeing, Estrada said.

The man was brought to Loretto Hospital, Estrada said, where his condition stabilized, though he did not say which condition.

No one is in custody for any of the shootings, Estrada said.
