UPTOWN — Uptown residents will have the opportunity to commute with holiday cheer this week as the CTA holiday train rides the Purple and Red lines this week.
The six-car train adorned with Christmas lights, Santa and snowflakes pulls into stations with Santa waving to the boarding passengers, according to the CTA website.
The train will be on Red Line tracks Tuesday and Thursday. It will be on Purple Line tracks Wednesday, Friday and next Tuesday. Photos with Santa will be offered aboard on Saturday when the train runs on both the Purple and Red lines, the website said.
