HUMBOLDT PARK — Three people were hurt between two shootings in Humboldt Park Saturday and Sunday, police said.

Most recently, around 5:25 a.m. Sunday, a 31-year-old man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital after being shot multiple times in the 800 block of North Central Park Avenue, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

Police said they don't yet know the circumstances behind the shooting as they haven't been able to interview the man, whose condition is listed as "guarded," Estrada said.

Around 2:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon, a 23-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man were standing in the 3800 block of West Augusta Boulevard when someone walked up and shot at them before fleeing, Estrada said.

The man brought himself to Norwegian Hospital and was later transferred to Stroger Hospital, Estrada said, where he was in good condition with a gunshot wound in his groin.

The woman was brought to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she was listed in good condition with a gunshot wound in her leg, Estrada said.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.
